Ritalin/Adderall

These stimulant medications are prescribed to treat attention deficit disorders and are sometimes used without a prescription. Though relatively safe if taken as prescribed, these medications don’t work for everyone. It may be difficult to tell if a friend is using unless you observe them. One caution: Ritalin can mask the signs of drowsiness and lead to impaired driving.

How can you tell if a friend is using?

  • inflated sense of accomplishment
  • dilated pupils
  • sweating,
  • dry mouth
  • loss of appetite
  • increased energy
  • insomnia

Overdose:

  • overstimulates body
  • makes concentration difficult
  • feelings of agitation
